Last updated October 12, 2026. Bubble Sheet Grader is built to collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what happens to your data.

Your scanned PDFs never leave your computer

When you select your PDF from your computer, it stays on your computer and the file is never sent to us or uploaded to a server. It is graded directly on your computer, inside your web browser. Your test pages, answers, scores, marked PDF, and downloaded CSV stay on your device.

What we store

If you create an account, we store your email address and your account type (free or Premium). Accounts collect email only — no names, school details, or student information.

If you have Premium, your scan history keeps the results of your latest 50 scans: the answer key, student responses, and scores. It does not store scanned PDFs or page images, and student names or other personally identifying details are not read from the sheets. The PDF filename is saved as the history label, so avoid identifying details in filenames.

If you send a message through the Contact page, we store your message, your email address, and your name if you choose to give it — so we can reply.

What we never store

We never store scanned test pages, page images, or the marked PDFs the grader builds. We never read or store student names from your sheets. Free accounts keep no scan history at all.

Usage analytics

We collect first-party, metadata-only usage events: counts and timings, which sheet template was used, and browser/device type. These events never contain answers, answer keys, scores, names, or images of your pages.

Payments

Premium is a one-time payment handled by Stripe, a payment processor. Your card details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store them. We store a record that your account purchased Premium, for receipts and support.

Signing in

You can sign in with email and a password, or with Google or Microsoft. With Google or Microsoft sign-in, those services share your email address with us — nothing more is requested. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes by our authentication provider.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage only to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.

What we never do

We never sell your data, never run ads, and never share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual scans from your history at any time. To delete your account or anything else we hold, email us through the Contact page and we will remove it.
